Equipment

  • Shot glasses (at least 4)
  • Bar spoon or teaspoon
  • Measuring jigger or small measuring cup
  • Can of whipped cream

Ingredients

  • ½ oz grenadine
  • ½ oz blue curaçao
  • ½ oz Irish cream liqueur such as Baileys
  • Whipped cream optional, for garnish
  • Red white, and blue sprinkles (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  • Step-by-Step Instructions
  • Prepare Your Glasses
  • Place your shot glasses on a flat surface or tray. Have all ingredients and equipment ready so you can move quickly through each step for clean layers.
  • Pour the Grenadine (Bottom Red Layer)
  • Measure ½ oz of grenadine and pour it into the bottom of each shot glass. This heavy syrup naturally settles at the bottom, making it perfect for layering.
  • Layer the Blue Curaçao (Middle Blue Layer)
  • Take a bar spoon or teaspoon and turn it upside down. Rest the tip just above the grenadine layer and slowly pour ½ oz of blue curaçao over the back of the spoon. This helps control the pour and allows the blue layer to gently float on top of the red.
  • Add the Irish Cream Liqueur (Top White Layer)
  • Using the same spoon technique, pour ½ oz of Irish cream liqueur on top of the blue layer. Move slowly and carefully to maintain distinct layers. The creamy liqueur adds a silky top and completes the patriotic color palette.
  • Garnish for a Festive Touch
  • Top each shot with a small dollop of whipped cream, then sprinkle on red, white, and blue nonpareils or sugar sprinkles. This extra touch adds sparkle and flair, making each shot look like a mini firework display.
  • Serve Immediately
  • Sparkler Shots are best enjoyed right after assembly to keep the layers intact and the whipped cream fresh. Hand them out with cheers and enjoy your fireworks in a glass!

Notes

For a fun variation, add a splash of vanilla vodka between the layers for a boozier version. Or, for a non-alcoholic version, substitute grenadine with cherry juice, blue sports drink in place of curaçao, and a splash of cream soda or coconut milk instead of Irish cream.
